A legal literacy awareness campaign was organized by
District legal services authority in association with NSS unit of TNAU,
Coimbatore at Anna Auditorium on 15.9.2014. Three hundred NSS volunteers from TNAU participated in the
programme.
Vice Chancellor called upon the students to know the
fundamental rights of citizens. India is a country blessed with more population
in young age group and hence youth should know the laws and rules of the
country to make the nation problem free. Mr.Jagannathan, Senior Civil Judge,
Secretary, Coimbatore district legal services Authority explained the hierarchy
of court at district, state and national level, writ jurisdiction. Students
actively participated in interactive session and had their doubts cleared.
Dr.S.Mahimairaja, Dean (Agriculture),
Dr.N.Ragupathy, Director (Students Welfare) and Dr.Venkatprabhu, Public
Relations Officer, TNAU were present in the programme. Arrangements for the
programme were made by Dr. Krishnan, Professor Education in association with
NSS programme coordinator Dr. K. Kumutha and
NSS programme officers, Latha, Hemaprabha,
Paavendan, Guru and Year
coordinators, Dr.Balamurugan, Dr.Santhanakrishnan and Dr.Bharathi.
